This Weeks Bible Verse is From: James 2:14-17
What good is it, my brothers, if a man claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save him? 15 Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. 16 If one of you says to him, "Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed," but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it? 17 In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.

EPIC Drama
(formerly Drama Ministries)

What is EPIC? "As a futurist, I would argue that artists think the way the brain works: in nonlinear links and connections. The emerging, postmodern culture does not think in logical, linear, sequential, conceptual categories, like print-based modernity did. This emerging culture is more perceptual than conceptual. Its native language is sound and sight (hence MTV). That means that this emerging culture is more in congruence with how the brain functions than the fading culture of modernity, which had little room or use for artists other than wordsmiths. This native epistemology of postmoderns I call 'EPIC' (E=Experiential; P=Participatory; I=Image rich; C=Connective). EPIC is another name for an artistic sensibility. All of which is to say, I'm expecting the next 30 years to be an EPIC Renaissance in the church - at least churches trying to reach people outside their walls." - Leonard Sweet

AUDIENCE of ONE: We "perform" for the One who made us and for you, who might think that "church" has lost touch and doesn't understand or can't relate to life today.

EPIC Drama brings three dimensional life to the challenges that touch us every day. Jesus often shared God's truths by telling stories people could relate to. This is what drama does. We use the dilemmas or humor in every day life, to help bring down barriers, engaging the observer, and opening hearts to the solutions that only God can bring.

Puppet Ministry
Every Tuesday Evening 6:45 - 8:00 pm
Puppet Ministry at Hope is a great way for children and adults of all ages to come together for a fun and entertaining way to reach out for Christ! Weekly meetings on Tuesday evenings are from 6:45 to 8:00 pm. Training will include puppet manipulation, lip sync, choreography and developing voices. Several puppets are in need of names and personality characteristics. We welcome any new or experienced members to join. We look forward to expanding our skills and having a lot of fun. This is a ministry where young and "not as young" can serve together. Young people from 4th grade and up are welcome, as are adults of ALL ages. There is much more to this ministry than making a puppet come alive. Crew members, artists, script writers, technically skilled, etc. all have a place in this group. Questions?? Call Beth Marsaw or Gladys Kryger through Hope's office at 723-4673.
