Role Title: Finance Director
Pipeline Level: Area Leader
Reports to: Executive Director
Purpose Statement: The Finance Director leads and develops volunteers for all stewardship and financial aspects of Hope Church, ensuring that the finances are handled with wisdom, transparency, accountability, and faithfulness, creating a culture of high trust for the leadership, staff, and donors and ultimately maximizing Kingdom impact.
Responsibilities: The Finance Director is fully responsible for the finances of Hope Church, both the strategic financial planning and all day-to-day financial operations including payroll, accounts payable, contributions management, donor tracking, and reporting/management of accounts. Duties include:
- Manage cash flow, reporting, budgeting and forecasting to provide valuable insight for optimal decision making to further kingdom impact.
- Work closely with the Board of Directors and Church Treasurer, providing regular monthly reporting and updates for their monthly meetings, attending those meetings if required.
- Manage and lead the Stewardship process, including onboarding Electronic Giving, Legacy Giving, New Giver process, the Annual Report, and annual giving communications.
- Formulate, document, and revise financial policies and processes, ensuring alignment with all General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) regulations to generate accurate financials and successful audits.
- Lead audit process with an outside accounting firm.
- Oversee and manage payroll, working closely with HR on benefits, new hire onboarding, etc.
- Own the Financial/Stewardship Dashboard, utilizing it to drive process improvement
- Recruit, Lead, Train and Develop Staff and Volunteers in all financial duties
Prerequisites:
- Five or more years of experience in financial management
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, QuickBooks, Google, etc.)
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of related experience

- Ability to maintain confidentiality
Time Investment: 20 hrs / week
Compensation: $20 – $22/hr commensurate with experience.
Paid time off, sick and holiday pay as detailed in the Employee handbook.
Commitment: Minimum of 2 years
