Role Title: Next Generation Leader

To see an ever-increasing number of youth believe and trust in Jesus Christ, as they live a life of discipleship; using their spiritual gifts, serving and maturing in their faith through the power of the Gospel.
Scope of Role:
The Next Generation Leader develops the vision and the discipleship plan for Grades 6-12 at Hope Church. This individual will work collaboratively with the leadership team on several fronts:
- Own the transition process from Kids into Youth and Young Adults.
- Attract Youth and families from the community into the Youth Ministry.
- Integrate Youth within the church and community, through worship, service, and personal relationships, ultimately moving youth forward in their faith.
- Network with area Youth Leaders
Responsibilities:
- Pray for the students and ministry regularly, and teach students to do the same, seeking God’s purpose and plan.
- Teach God’s Word to students, along with a team of volunteers, by devoting a significant amount of time for preparation in order to deliver with clarity and passion.
- Plan, communicate, and implement a ministry year calendar including regular JH and SH.
- Create a safe, welcoming environment so students will feel like they truly belong, cared for and want to invite their friends.
- Build a leadership team of servant leaders (both youth and adults) so that volunteers can use their gifts to lead small groups, provide hospitality, plan events and run tech.
- Disciple others through teaching, and modeling the Word of God. This happens both in large group experiences and one-on-one relationships.
- Connect with local schools and community organizations to open doors for evangelism, community service, and to be visible with youth outside the church.
- Connect the youth to the whole church by being an ambassador to the congregation and advocating for the importance of the ministry.
- Provide spiritual guidance and counsel while using Scripture and various other gospel-centered materials.
- Build a joy-filled, can-do attitude in the ministry. Nothing is impossible with God and nothing is more adventurous than doing big things for God.
- Develop a ministry plan that is aligned with the present vision of the church as well as a future-oriented vision of what can be for youth ministry.
Prerequisites:
- Believing and trusting in Christ as Savior and visible fruit of a relationship with God.
- Passionate for sharing Gospel-centered messages to young people.
- Demonstrated experience in hands-on youth ministry and youth program leadership or relevant experience in a related field.
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, Google, etc.)
- Actively uses social media to aid in ministry when beneficial to YM.(Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, etc.)
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of related experience
Skills:
- Great communication and interpersonal skills, especially when building trust with teens
- Ability to be a team player with other ministry leaders
- Ability to receive constructive feedback
- Ability to plan strategically
- Availability and flexibility to work evenings, weekends, mission trips, and added hours in various seasons of the ministry year.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
Compensation: Salary starting at $50,000 + benefits (health, dental, vision, retirement, PTO)
