Words of Hope from Elder Scott Mitchell
“It was by faith that Noah built a large boat to save his family from the flood. He obeyed God, who warned him about things that had never happened before.” Heb 11:7
What’s a flood? Whether he said it out loud or not I have to believe that thought was racing through Noah’s head when God told him to build an ark. Noah, and all creation for that matter, had no idea about this thing God said was coming, but he knew God could be trusted and he knew God would see him through.
Today we find ourselves in that same boat. While unprecedented in our lifetimes, God has seen this before. God has restored a nation and a world before. Like the songs goes, “Our hope is built on nothing less, than Jesus’ blood and righteousness.” These are the strongest building blocks of faith there are. They can withstand the waves of a flood, the heat of a furnace, and the uncertainty of a pandemic. “Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see.” Hebrews 11:1 We may not know what lies around the corner, but we can be certain of Who is waiting for us there.
