Malawi Update - May 2023
Last month we shared with you the mob attack that happened to Pastor Duncan and his property. On top of that the cyclones and torrential rains have caused a lot of damage to homes belonging to members of his churches.
We asked the people of Hope to give and you responded! We were able to send $25,000 on to Pastor Duncan and his churches. With that money he was able to purchase a new car, repair his home and provide food and blankets for people in his congregation. (See pictures below.)
Along with the emergency help we will use our ongoing Malawi mission budget to build 10 new homes for widows who lost their homes in the flood waters. We will continue to provide emergency food and support for Pastor Duncan monthly.
We will be visiting Malawi in August to get an assessment of the damage, the needs of the ongoing ministries, ministries that we helped implement like the drip irrigation training and kits, goat farms and the maize mill. That way we can formulate the best strategy going forward with our partnership to not only send aid, but to enable them to continue to provide for their people.
Thank you for your generosity!
2 Corinthians 8:3-4 For I testify that they gave as much as they were able, and even beyond their ability. Entirely on their own, 4 they urgently pleaded with us for the privilege of sharing in this service to the Lord’s people.
