Blogging can be a little intimidating. I mean when you write something and post it you know that anyone and everyone gets to peek inside your heart. And, to write something that moves and inspires people means you have to be vulnerable. The thing is when you have a message that is profound and powerful then it would just not be right to keep it to yourself. Despite any of the insecurities in me, I think it is worth taking the risk, for sure! We are gifted for His glory!
The mission and the vision for growing the kingdom of God that is beginning to take shape at Hope Church have moved me to take an active part in something I am absolutely passionate about. At face value, as Christians with believers’ faith, we are called to do that the moment we choose to follow Christ. But honestly, for some people it just doesn’t seem that way. That’s why God created us with free will. When I study His Word, I come to realize more and more how He wants ALL of ALL of us, but He wants it to be because we love Him so much.
The amazing thing about this truth is that we have such an opportunity through the new and the not so new initiatives to use our gifts. For me it might be using gifts and talents such as music, art, ministry, decorating, teaching, food service, (possibly writing…you will have to be the judge of that 🙂 !) and a few other things. I just think of the roles I play in life like being a wife and mom that I may be a nurturer or care-taker, as a therapist I might be able to provide Biblical counseling, as an executive director I may have organizational, administrative or leadership skills. No matter what, I want to offer what I have as my worship unto the Lord Jesus Christ!
Imagine how the Holy Spirit will use you and me to do great things as the Hope2020 Vision unfolds. What an impact it will make in the lives of people. It all begins by making a decision and then following through. I just know that when I reach out to others, God uses my efforts in a mighty way and He also blesses me in ways too lofty to describe.
I have been praying for God to lead and direct where He would have me. I think He may even stretch me to learn new things so I can give to Him even more of myself. The best place to start is by praying but I won’t stop there. I also want to be in the “doing” part as well. Together we can make this happen! There’s more to come…..I can’t wait to see what’s in store….
