Ministry: Communications + Information Technology

Role Title: Connections Coordinator  

Reports to: Director of Communications & Information Technology

Purpose Statement: 

The Connections Coordinator will be a frontline representative of Hope Church, fostering connections inside and outside the church community. This role is essential in welcoming new guests, facilitating member engagement, and facilitating clear communication with Hope Church’s vision and values in mind. They are also the first point of contact for staff and volunteer leaders for basic information and technology support.

Competencies:  

– Proven experience in community engagement and relationship building  

– Strong proficiency in technology tools relevant to communicating with people.

– Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written, and presentation skills  

– Willingness to continually learn.

– Adaptable to changes in daily schedule.

Prerequisites:  

– Devoted follower of Christ, actively growing as a disciple  

– Member of Hope Church (or willing to become a member), committed to the church’s mission  

– Proficiency in productivity and creative software  (Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets) & Canva)

– Familiarity with Social Media (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn)

– Comfortable with basic troubleshooting of computers and phones.

Responsibilities: 

The Connections Coordinator is required to perform a range of duties, including but not limited to:  

– Facilitating effective communication inside and outside of the church community.

– Lead the reception of people connecting with the church through in-person visits, text messaging, phone calls, social media messenger, and email.

– Prepare, delegate, and manage updates to communication platforms, including digital communications (website, social media, app, emails, texts), special event materials, and print communications.

– Develop and execute connection-focused projects with the Director of Communications.  

– Promote events & festivals (e.g., Bible studies, Support Groups etc.)  

– Collaborate with staff and volunteer ministry leaders across departments

– Support creating engaging content with the Communications Team.

– Maintain Hope Church’s brand voice and ensure the integrity of the church’s image across platforms  

– Utilize collaboration tools to assign tasks and track progress on connection-related projects  

– Perform Level 1 technology support for staff and volunteers. (i.e. document problems as tickets, follow troubleshooting flowcharts on known issues.)

Job Type: Part Time up to 20 hours per week

Pay rate: Starting at $18/hr  

Work Days: Sundays – Thursdays
