Go: New Ministry Initiatives

Jesus said, “Go and make disciples…” Isn’t it wonderful that our Lord could speak one word 2,000 years ago that would be so relevant, necessary and energizing for the church today?  For decades people went to a local church and worshiped.  Today there is so much cynicism and apathy toward the church that many people will not just come.  We must “Go” to them.  We’re ready to step out and walk by faith, as the church on the move; obedient and grateful for all that God has done for us; and ready, so ready, to share the joy we know in Him.  The common denominator of all our new ministry initiatives is the passionate desire to reach and build relationships with those that are not coming to us.  Our Vision2020 Walk By Faith campaign will enable us to fund these initiatives and ultimately reach more for Christ.
  • Roc City Impact: An initiative in the city of Rochester that allows us to serve students at School 20 and also provide a kids camp 2 Saturdays a month so as to share the love of Christ.
  • Greece School Partnerships: As we are invited, we will come alongside the administration, children and families of Greece Schools to fill school identified needs and gaps.  As we share our lives with them, they want to know why and we have the opportunity to share God’s love in Christ.
  • Digital Ministry:  We will enhance existing ministry by upgrading and replacing outdated technology as well as provide new tech equipment such as apps, cameras, lighting. This will expand our ministry possibilities so that the Gospel can be shared with more – reaching people where they are.

Multisite:  One church in different locations.  Most people will only drive to church as far as they drive to their workplace, so we have to go to them.  Our leadership has been diligently researching this concept for some time, and looks forward to sharing with congregation how this initiative will enable us to reach more people for Christ. God willing, by 2020 we will have planted a second site filled with people who don’t drive to 1301 Vintage Lane but are still part of Hope, fulfilling our mission to share the hope of Jesus with a world in need of hope.

”Go.”  It’s a little word with a great big impact.   We are where we are today as a church family because faithful God followers before us heard that word and they went.  Let’s join together and boldly pray that God will do a mighty work in our hearts, through these initiatives, as we surrender to Him and Walk by Faith.
