We walk by faith, not by sight – 2 Corinthians 5:7
You know the message God sent to the people of Israel, announcing the good news of peace through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all. - Acts 10:36 NIV
Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. - Colossians 3:15 NIV
While they were still talking about this (the resurrection appearance of Jesus), Jesus Himself stood among them and said to them, “Peace be with you.” – Luke 24:36
We live in a world that is anything but peaceful. Just recently we saw the horror of Las Vegas shootings. The peace Jesus gives is an inner peace that a sinful world can never take away. Jesus died on a cross so that our sins are forgiven and we can have peace with God. Jesus rose from the dead and conquered the grave so that we can have absolute peace that on the other side what awaits us is not hell, but heaven. Jesus gave us a calling and a purpose so that we can have peace that our lives don’t have to be futile, but fruitful. Peace of forgiven sin, peace of eternal life, peace of God’s perfect plan…these are just some of the promises of peace that God gives through Christ.
Reflection Question:
What peace from God do you need most today?
Prayer:
Lord, how I need you, every hour I need you. When storms and fears rage all around may I know it is well with my soul.
Scripture:
And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. - Philippians 4:7
