Here we are in the space between Christmas and New Years when we’re not always sure what day it is. It’s a time in the midst of all that is merry and bright that we often reflect on the past year and wonder what the new one might bring. What’s the win for you?
We all want to win. Winning is so much better than. . .not winning. Ask any Bills fan that survived watching four Super Bowls. The truth is that unless you define what the win is for yourself, for your family, your career, your health, your finances, your relationships and more, someone or some “thing” will define it for you. That’s not winning, that’s settling.
In January, we’re beginning a new series: “What’s the Win” We’ll be starting a conversation on how to determine what your win is and then how to get there. If you’ve tried the Whole30, Keto or the Grapefruit Diet, you’re not alone. If you’ve explored Crossfit or tried to become financially fit and failed, you’ve got plenty of company. You may even have resolved not to make any more resolutions and you wouldn’t be the first.
What will make 2020 different? GOD. Plain and simple. He doesn’t help us with a plan. He IS the plan. During this series, we’re going to challenge you and anyone else you want to bring along for the ride, to make 2020 the best year it can be. Pick up a challenge card at the Welcome Desk if you don’t have one already. If you’re a GUEST at Hope and you complete any two of the items on the card by March 1st, we have an awesome t-shirt for you as our way of saying, “Well done.” Every step counts. Too many times we get so overwhelmed by what appears to be a gigantic mountain in front of us, that we spend all our time analyzing and researching rather than just starting to climb. We promise you, you don’t have to climb alone. We’re here to help you move forward, whatever direction that turns out to be. If you’re a member/attender at Hope Church, how can you challenge yourself to take the next step in strengthening your faith? Who can you invite on this adventure? We’re better together.
Some of you are thinking: “This isn’t for me. I just went to church for Christmas. I’m good until Easter.” If you’ve never taken a serious look at being spiritually fit, if you’ve never flexed a muscle of faith, now is the time to accept the challenge. You owe us nothing but you owe yourself and your family the very best. Complete two boxes on the card. We guarantee doing so will make a difference. Need evidence? Check out all of these stories of hope.
A New Year and a new decade is just around the corner. You can make excuses or you can make it the best year it can be. Join us!
